“I paint wine because poetry is memory and the future…
Beauty appears—never cloying or idle, languid when the moment calls for it, and strong, gentle, and austere. The atmosphere is serene yet filled with a piercing intensity.
First, I sang it in my heart, smiling at the street, at the faces of those I met, at the greetings, at the whole world. Then I wrote it on the window at Vald’O and, not content with that, on a bottle of fine wine. A wine not to be missed, as unique as an occasion worth celebrating—one to cherish forever, even after drinking the very last drop of red wine.
A poem about a bottle. Like a message entrusted not to the waves of the sea but to the wonder of memory—to the memory of that wine, of an encounter.
That’s how the story of Wine is Art began. Humming to ourselves, gazing at the beauty that unfolds beside us—along the vineyards and horizons, among the dirt roads and that natural spirituality that fills the air.
For some time now, poetry has been dawning in my heart; it chases me, naked and pure, scattering flowers right into my heart—like memories and silences to be kept in a little wooden box. The thing closest to the idea of freedom—to paraphrase Velimir Chlebnikov—a way to address the sky as “you.”
But who paints a rock and a moon, a sun, and then wind and words that chase each other like autumn leaves on the bottles? A star-seeker who wonders who will sweep away the sadness, who will plant gardens in our eyes, and who will awaken the soul within our souls.
Yes, poetry speaks from the soul to the soul. It escapes clichés and does not echo; rather, it is like a breath of wind that scatters words and certainties, creates enigmas, and casts an oblique light on eternity.
Words are beautiful; they bloom like flowers, they are fragrant, and they leave their own unique mark. We have hands to do this—to reclaim uniqueness and the act itself, the wisdom that becomes art. Poetry is poiesis: it involves creating what did not exist before. This is why poetry converges spiritually on the wine bottle, on the ultimate expression of the region’s culture. It is something that breaks things down and reassembles them in a different way. Never didactic, never affected. Never nagging or idle. It charts new horizons and tells our story, our tradition, our beauty. Right down to the very last drop.”
